ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF FAITH FORMATION

Description:

Collaborates with the Director of Faith Formation and key volunteers to execute the vision for faith formation at St. James
Oversees the parish program of religious education for children (pre-K through grade 8) and their families
Prepares parents for the Baptism of their children
Oversees the parish preparation of children for First Reconciliation & First Holy communion and collaborates with teachers and catechists at our school
Coordinates the yearly Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Qualifications:

The successful candidate is a practicing Catholic committed to personal growth in discipleship and able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church. The candidate demonstrates knowledge of the Catholic Church’s teachings and methods of evangelization and catechesis, and a joyful enthusiasm in bringing others to encounter Jesus Christ in His Church. This person must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to form and lead other staff and volunteer teams to plan and execute various ministries, and be willing to work flexible hours (including evenings & weekends). It is preferrable that the candidate have at least a bachelor’s degree in theology (or a related discipline). Additionally, preference will be given to the candidate who has experience teaching in school and/or parish settings.
